Welcome to the “From Blame to Responsibility” edition of “It’s Sun Day: Your Day to Shine”

Today, is Sunday the 27th of June 2021.

Have you ever noticed that you can break the word “Blame” down into “Bla” and “Me”?

I find this quite interesting as when you are in the “Bla Bla Bla” you are not taking any responsibility for your part (Me) in what you are talking and complaining about,

You are totally responsible for your life. This is the foundational principle you must embrace if you plan for happiness and success in all areas of your life.

For many people, everything is someone else’s fault. Every problem can be explained away with reasons why they can’t affect the situation or the outcome, especially at work.

The blame game is one of the most common barriers that get in your way and one of the easiest to identify and change. It is really easy to look at your current life and blame everyone except yourself.

Though today, this beautiful Sun Day, is the day that we are going to shed light on how to move from Bla-me to Responsibility.

Unlocking Your Potential From Within

Today’s activity will give you guided steps that will assist you to move from the Blame Game to Unlocking Your Potential from Within! The ‘blame game’ will stop you from living the life that you desire. The responsible place to look is actually inside of yourself. To take stock of who you are and what barriers you’re putting up.

#1. Seek to Understand

Most people have a tendency to judge other people on their actions whilst judging themselves by their intentions. This leads to us filtering our thoughts so that we’re more likely to be right and everyone else more likely to be wrong. When you make it a priority to understand the reasons behind others’ actions, it helps you to consider their perspectives and challenge your own sometimes superficial assumptions. Choose to be curious. Choose to keep asking why. This will assist you to better understand the underlying cause of any situation. Our minds may bias us towards blaming others, though it is always best to choose to keep questioning what we actually want to believe.

#2. Take Responsibility

The most important aspect of taking responsibility for your life is to acknowledge that your life is your responsibility. No one can live your life for you. You are in charge. No matter how much you continue to blame others for the events of your life, each event is the result of choices you made and are making.  Listen to the little voice in your head. And observe yourself talking with co-workers, family members and friends. Do you hear yourself taking responsibility or placing blame? What measures can you put in place that will assist you to delete the “bla-me track”? Spend some time, contemplating:

  • How can you take responsibility today for your life?
  • What things are you going to put in place that will make a difference?
  • How can you eliminate blame?
  • How will you react in the future when things don’t go to plan?
  • Will you be able to turn a disaster into an opportunity to learn and grow?
#3. Choose a More Empowered Response

Blaming others may make you feel better temporarily, but it also disempowers you. If you want to reach your full potential, stop accusing others and start accepting responsibility for the quality of your life and relationships.  Choose a response that EMPOWERS YOU.

Are you ready to do your part to create a life you love?

Welcome to the “Believe in You” edition of “It’s Sun Day: Your Day to Shine”

Today, is Sunday the 20th of June 2021.

Do you have your back? Do you get out of your comfort zone on a regular basis?

Are you aware that you are the only person you will spend your entire life with?

So often we forget that we spend 24/7 with our self. No-one else. Just our self- 24/7 each and every week of our lives.

Yet so often we forget to believe that if “I can think it, I can do it.”

Sometimes we allow our fears to get in the way of us being the best version of our self. We allow others opinions to dictate, what we are good at and not so good at.

Well, today we are going to change that.

Today we are going to get out of our own way and start to know that we can do anything we want to do. That life starts at the end of our comfort zone.

Sure, we may require some training and then some practice to become an expert at it. Though today is the day we take that first step in believing that I Matter and I can do anything that I can think and dream about.

Enjoy taking that first step.

Transforming Fear into Action

Fear depletes your energy, clouds your self-value and keeps you stuck in your comfort zone. Stopping you from living the life you came here to live. Today’s ME Time is all about liberating and empowering you. Assisting you to stop living in a state of fear so you can start believing in you.

What is your biggest dream that you’ve been too scared to attempt?

In this exercise you are going to explore your BIG IDEA. The one thing that you would attempt if you no longer had fear in your life. The one thing that you would do if you knew success was guaranteed after you took all the action steps.

Ok, it’s time to deep dive:

Write out all the action steps required that will make your BIG IDEA come into fruition. (include new skills you may require to make this happen).

  • Chunk each action step down. Listing them in the order they need to happen
  • Write next to each action step, what (if anything) is preventing you from making it happen
  • Then list the next action step that must happen, so you can move beyond what was preventing you from taking any action step.
  • Once you have all of the action steps, place an estimated time to complete against each action.
  • Schedule the first action step.
  • Complete it.
  • Celebrate its completion as “achieving goals is the easiest way for you to start and then continue to Believe in You.”
  • Then schedule the next action step.
  • Complete it.
  • Celebrate its completion.
  • Then schedule the next action step.

Continue taking the steps. Keep watching the path not the obstacles and you’ll be at your goal before you know it. Live your life focusing on the one action step in front of you, pushing beyond your comfort zone, celebrating every action step you’ve taken and easily won.

And before you know you’ll realise that you have easily moved beyond your fears and created a life full of all your dreams and desires.

Let’s Get Intentional

Welcome to the “Your Intention” edition of “It’s Sun Day: Your Day to Shine”

Today, is Sunday the 13th June 2021 and it is my 64th birthday.

Which begs me to ask, the same question the Beatles asked many moons ago……”will you still need me when I’m 64?”

Each year around my birthday, I love to deep dive into me. Shining the light on each area of my life, in order to set an intention for how I will be and show up, in each area for the next year.

Then on a daily basis I look at what I have planned for the day and set intentions for who I will be and how I can be there for others…. in all scenarios.

With this in mind, the theme for today is Intentions. Do you set daily intentions?

Let’s deep-dive into the most ideal way to assist you to make this happen or enhance the way you may be doing this.

Take time to Celebrate You, Today and All Days!

Be Intentional Daily

Setting an Intention for your day, either the night before or early in the morning, is one of the quickest ways, to reconnect to you and create your Better Everyday Life. When you focus on your reason as why, who and how you will show up, everything else magically falls into place. Of course you have to take action after Intention, though once the Intention is set, its like you have your own power force generator making it all come into fruition.  Like real seeds, intentions can’t grow if you hold on to them.  Only when you release your intentions into the fertile depths of your consciousness can they grow and flourish.

In Deepak Chopra’s book The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, the Law of Intention and Desire lays out the five steps for harnessing the power of intention to create anything you desire.

Five Steps for Harnessing the Power of Intention

  1. Slip into the Gap

Most of the time your mind is caught up in thoughts, emotions, and memories. Beyond this noisy internal dialogue is a state of pure awareness that is sometimes referred to as “the gap.” One of the most effective tools you have for entering the gap is Meditation.

  1. Release Your Intentions and Desires

After you set an intention, let it go—simply stop thinking about it.

  1. Remain Centered in a State of Restful Awareness

Intention is much more powerful when it comes from a place of contentment than if it arises from a sense of lack or need. Stay centered and refuse to be influenced by other people’s doubts or criticisms.

  1. Detach from the Outcome

Relinquish your rigid attachment to a specific result and live in the wisdom of uncertainty. Attachment is based on fear and insecurity, while detachment is based on the unquestioning belief in the Power of Your True Self.

  1. Let the Universe Handle the Details

Your focused intentions set the infinite organising power of the universe in motion. Trust that infinite organising power to orchestrate the complete fulfillment of your desires. The outcome that you try so hard to force may not be as good for you as the one that comes naturally.

Also keep in mind…………

  1. Authenticity Counts

Know yourself, be authentic. Then, all areas of your life will fall into place.

  • Who are you?
  • What do you really want?
  • What’s your mission?
  • What can you offer the world?
  1. It’s not necessarily about balance but alignment

Allow all all areas of your life to support each other. The Chaston Centre Wellness Wheel model has nine areas of life.

 

Be clear and specific. 

Write exactly what you desire don’t be vague. If it’s money you want, then say that. If it’s relationship and family, say that. Place deadlines or a time frame, on your goals.  Watch your language! Use words that have a higher vibrations like “I choose” “I will” “I am” “I love” and understand the word “want,” really means “lack,”

  1. Look forward, not back.

Focus on what your life will look like when the goal is achieved — and if it helps, create a vision board.

  • Write, repeat, embody…
  • Write down your intention, say it and repeat it over and over again.

According to Abraham-Hicks, 17 seconds is all it takes to set that intention, as at the precise 17-second moment, the idea comes together and a specific energy is formed.

Have You Lost Sight of The Horizon?

“I’m tired of watching people laugh,wondering why I have nothing to laugh about. I’m sick of waiting for the clouds to part so the sun can start shining on me and my life. Why has life been so unfair to me whilst giving others so much?”

How do feel when you read these comments?

Do you relate more to the person who is sick and tired, downtrodden by life? Or more with the other person, perceived to be living a life full of fun, laughter and love?

I hear these (or similar) comments all the time. They are usually said by people who have been through some serious stuff. They feel lost and alone, not knowing how to move forward as they’re having a hard time accepting that things are not going to be the same as they were.

They are scared to make a decision. Mainly because their past decisions and/or choices have not been so ideal. Sometimes ending up in a worse place than where they were before.

Many have lost their way and are wanting the world to stop. They feel all alone and are suffering in Silence.

They have lost their Purpose. They feel they have no real reason to get out of bed. As they are trapped in what I call “The Ground-Hog Day Daze.”

Each day is the same as the one before. They are going through the motions. Holding on tight to any emotions that come up. Swallowing them back down. Mainly out of fear, as they have no idea what will happen if they let them out…………

If they voice how they are really feeling………….

If they say the things that have been eating at them for a long time………..

If they act on the thoughts that have been running around in their head………..

Does this sound familiar?

You know, it does not have to be that way.

Sometimes all that is required is for you to STOP and have a chat with someone who can assist you to be guided to a new perspective. A new way of looking at things.

A way that assists you to have purpose, love and intention in your life.

It may be hard for you to remember the last time that you woke up excited about what the day has in store for you. Though it did happen and it is possible for it to happen again.

And the good news is that it may not be that far away.

In fact, just a few steps away.

Welcome to the “Your Freedom” edition of “It’s Sun Day: Your Day to Shine”

Today, is Sunday the 6th June 2021.

Earlier in the week my second grandson, Austin was born.

As I started to consider what today’s theme would be I was guided to Virginia Satir.

Virginia Satir (1916-1988) was a popular American author, psychotherapist and social worker. She was affectionately known as the ‘Mother of Family.’

Today we will deep dive into some of her infamous quotes and espacially the “Five Authentic Freedom Values” that when embraced will lead you to living your best life, creating the most ideal relationships with yourself and others.

“Five Authentic Freedom Values”

Are you being true to you? Honouring all parts of you; both your Golden and Shadow side? The more that we shine light on our shadow side and own them, the easier it is for us to step beyond the Shame and the Guilt, allowing our Golden side to shine. Virginia Satir created these five freedom values. They are an ideal guide for us all to embrace, as they lead us towards a better and more authentic way of living.

The Five Freedoms are:

#1. To See and Hear

what is here instead of what it should be, was or will be.

#2. To Say

what one feels and thinks instead of what one should.

#3. To Feel

what one feels instead of what one ought to.

#4. To Ask

for what one wants instead of always waiting for permission

#5. To Take Risks

on your behalf instead of being only secure and not rocking the boat.

Today’s ME Time exercise is for you to deep dive into how true you are currently being to these five authentic freedom values. Then spend sometime looking at ways that you may be able to introduce these Freedoms into your life. Your future begins today, so you will never find a better time to start that journey towards your authentic self.
