Get Out of Your Own Way

Have you noticed that we seem to be living in a world where there are a lot of things happen that are beyond our control?

Ouside of our circle of influence.

It can be very frustrating. Especially as these can be the reasons why we are not advancing in life the way that we thought we would be………especially if these things were not happening.

With all of this in mind, lets deep dive into something that you can control ~ YOU.

Today, we are going to see how you can get out of your own way.

Have fun with this and enjoy removing the obstacles that you can control.

How to Get Out of Your Own Way

Have you ever noticed that each day you are a different person?

Some days life is easy and you seem on fire. Whatever you are doing just seems to flow. Whereas other days, everything is an effort, a struggle, you seem to be incapable of doing anything successfully.

So, getting out of your own way means being with who you are, moment to moment, whether you like or not like who you are today.

Here are some guides that may assist you to always be in the mind body and soul space of getting out of your own way, so that you can achieve all your Hopes, Dreams and Aspirations:

1. Tune into who you are today. Upon wakening, take some deep breaths into your body. Tune into each part of your body. Then ask yourself some questions:

  1. How do I feel?
  2. Are there any aches and pains?
  3. Is there something going on in my life that is going to distract me from what I’d like to achieve today?

2. Create your ‘achievement list’ for today. List out all of the things that must happen today, that will keep you on target to achieving your goals. Look over the list and see if there is anything that causes you any fear or angst. Make these the first things that you do. Then take a quick break and reward yourself in some way for doing them. Celebrate that even though you had some fear or angst, you moved passed these and did them. Also take note of whether any of your fear or angst was warranted. Then list the other things in order of priority.

3. Schedule Time. Do you own your day? Many times, the reason we are in our own way, is that we are busy living by someone else’s agenda. Take back your day. Make you a priority in your life and watch how much you achieve ~ for yourself and others.

4. Listen to Music. Music has a huge effect on how you feel. Create a playlist of songs that will assist you to be who you need to be in any given moment. Ones that motivate you, relax you and assist you to get into creation mode.

5. Get up and Move. I’ve always loved the idea that “the brain can only endure what the bum can.” Simply put, get up and move every 50 mins. Do some jumping jacks, some simple exercises, or just dance like no one is watching. You actually get more energy from being active. So, Move it. Move it. Move it………….every 50 minutes!

6. Celebrate All Milestones. So often we get so focused on the final destination, that we forget to look back and see how far we have come. It is all about each step. Knowing that each step is getting us closer and that we will not get there without taking each and every step. Keep looking at the final goal, though at the end of each day look back and answer these questions:

  1. What did I do today that I’ll do differently next time?
  2. What did I do today that I’ll do exactly the same next time?
  3. What did I do today that I did not think I’d ever be able to do?
  4. How awesome am I?
  5. How far have I come?

Then take a few moments to celebrate….. even if it is only a Happy Dance!

Listen to Your Heart

Thank you for being here, today this Sunday the 22nd of August 2021.

It’s a very special day for me, as it is the day that I get to go home, after being in Hotel Quarantine since the 8th of August. The past 14 days have been pretty good, all things considering.

I’ve been on the 21st floor, at the Crowne Plaza in Surfers Paradise, with a large balcony and a view overlooking the ocean. Love looking at the horizon and the “Endless Possibilities” that it represents for me. Yes the sunrise picture above is one of the many amazing pictures I’ve been gifted to take from my Room with a View!

The main reason for me to have found myself in this predicament was that I made a Heart decision on the 23rd of June. I decided to fly to Sydney for five days and ended up staying six weeks. Eight weeks ago, today I had originally planned day to fly home!

Now, whilst your first thought may be, that my Heart Choice did not work out for me, I am glad to say that the six weeks in Sydney, ended up assisting me to fulfill many of my long- term Hopes, Dreams and Aspirations. Yes even in Sydney Lockdown, many amazing things can happen.

I believe that when you choose Heart over Head, the Universe will reward you in the most amazing and unforeseen ways. In a way that is far better than you could ever imagine. In writing this I am reminded of this old saying “If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans.” I guess the pandemic has brought this home to us all. Though now I’d like to rephrase it to “If you want God to assist you in fulfilling any of your dreams, then let your Heart choose the best path forward!”

So, today with all of this in mind, I’ll be sharing ways to assist you to easily allow your Heart to guide you to a life that is filled with all your Hopes, Dreams and Aspirations being fulfilled.

How to Listen to Your Heart

Your body was designed to connect with your heart. Every day, your heart sends you powerful messages.

Have you been listening?

So, let’s deep dive into various ways that will assist you to listen to your intuition and to the signals of your heart. This will provide you with a different Gem when making your choices.

1. Create a Space to Listen. A busy, stressful life gets in the way of knowing what you really want because you can’t hear your heart anymore. Look around are your surroundings cluttered and hectic? Creating more stress in your life?. Create a calm, open space that encourages a heart connection.

2. Take a Breath Before Responding. Allow your heart and lungs to be filled with fresh revitalising air before you answer any request. Mindfully tuning into your heart, assists you to separate from your thoughts and emotional reactions. Then you’ll discover that the heart has a very clear, subtle way of saying “yes” and “no.”

3. Schedule Time. The more time you spend alone, allowing yourself to tune into your inner knowing, the easier it will become for you to tap into your heart. To hear and listen to your answers. Schedule regular time in your calendar for you to practice, practice, practice.

4. Get to Know if You’re choosing out of Fear or Love. Fear reactions always serve to dissociate you from your true and integral self in the moment. When engaged in fear, the choices you’ll make will be based in trying to protect yourself from whatever it is you fear. Know that fear-based choices, will not be grounded in hope, confidence and faith; they will not be conducive to your growth and thriving.

5. Look to the Past. Take some time to look back at what has always happened in the past when you acted according to your fears. Take note of all the “kinds of dissatisfaction” or “disappointments” and “frustrations” that may have resulted.

6. Practice Through Feeling into It. Start to notice the feeling that comes simply from making your decisions this way. It’s a felt response in the body, where you physically experience your body saying yes or no. It allows you to detach from expectations about the outcome altogether. Which in turn allows you to feel good and confident about your decision, regardless of the outcome.

The more you practice making Heart-Choices, the more you’ll develop an incredible sense of freedom, as you’ll begin to move in this world in a way that is true to yourself and to your life purpose.

The Buddhist teachings describe this as assisting you to cultivate “courageous self-acceptance” and a “fearless heart.”

Another added bonus is that when your decisions becomes clearer, less stressful and less conflicted, all your relationships will begin to follow suit.

You’ll let go of people-pleasing, of guilt, of feeling like you have to explain yourself or compromise yourself and you’ll stop making decisions that are no longer right for you.

That is a win-win for you and all who cross your path.

Nuturing You

Whilst you might be tempted to overlook the relationship you have with yourself; it is arguably the most important relationship you will ever have.

So, with this in mind this Sunday the 15th of August 2021, we will be deep diving into many different ways that you can nurture the most important person in your life.

You are the only person in your life that you spend 24/7 with, each and every week.

You are the only person that you will never leave or lose.

The only person that has the right answers for you.

So, grab your calendar and schedule an hour each day, for nurturing you. Then sit back and watch all your hopes, dreams and aspirations come into fulfillment in all other areas of your life.

Time to Master Nurturing You

1. Learn to Love Being Alone. When you love your own company you are never alone. Taking time to deep dive into your thoughts, feelings and where you are going is the greatest gift you can give to yourself. 15-30 minutes a day is equivalent to a week’s holiday. It helps you to refocus, energises and gives you the clarity you may be lacking.

2. Compliment Strangers. This is one of the best ways to nurture yourself. Your energy and feel-good hormones kick in. all because you have made someone else’s day. Give it a go. Watch the Give-Receive energy flow both ways.

3. Explore Your Taste Buds. Enlivening your senses, especially the taste buds is a great way to nurture you. Get a little adventurous. Explore tastes that you never had before.

4. Start Creating Meaningful Memorable Magical Moments. So often we leave things to chance. “Let’s do it later” has been our catch cry for way too long. The recent global pandemic has taught us that “Now is the Time” otherwise there may never be a time. Start planning weekly meaningful memorable magical moments. Pick the destination and company, then when you’re there go down that path you always wondered about, have those conversations you always wanted to have. And most importantly, let them know exactly how important they are in your life.

5. Step Outside. Spending time in Nature is the best way to Nurture yourself. Utilise all of your senses. Breath in the air, the sights, feel how alive you feel, lean up against a tree, look at the intricate design of a flower, pat an animal. Be grateful that Mother Nature is here to ensure that you are nurtured and revitalised by her presence.

6. Create Your Healthy Eating Regime. What we eat today, walks and talks tomorrow. If you’re feeling a little sluggish, look back at what you have been consuming. Look into the foods that bring you up and others that make you slump. You are here for only a short time and the last thing you want to be doing is spending it visiting doctors and hospitals. Start consuming life-giving natural foods. If it’s green its ideal. After all, green is the colour of the Heart Chakra………. guaranteed to bring more health and love into your life!

7. Spending Time Doing Things That Light You Up. We all have things that we love to do. Though sometimes we get stuck in the busyness of life, forgetting to do the activities that bring us JOY. Schedule time each week to do these things. Watch how more time is created!

The Art of Creating Meaningful Coincidences

Have you noticed random occurrences fitting together perfectly in your life? the beauty is that when you pay attention to synchronous happenings, you start to notice that the universe is listening to us and gently communicating with us.

Today this Sunday the 1st of August 2021, lets deep dive into different ways that assist us to become more attuned to the fact that just about everything happens in our lives for a reason – even when that reason is not clear right away.

The Art of Creating Synchronicities

1. Pay attention. Coincidences happen to people who are mindful and notice things. When you go about your daily activities, keep your senses open to coincidental opportunities. These “meaningful coincidences” are tiny miracles steering you to where you need to be.

2. Talk to strangers. Many coincidences happen when you take the time to start a conversation with some you don’t know. The only way to find out if they have a message is to ask them a question. Trust your inner guidance and ask any question that pops into your head. Then start to notice what happens from there.

3. Seek meaning. No matter how small or large the coincidence may be, ask yourself if you can make meaning out of the experience.

4. Write it down. This one is very important. So often we think we will remember what has happened though unfortunately we live in a world of distraction and are constantly being bombarded with information. Keep a log of the coincidences that occur in your daily life. The more you notice coincidences, the more likely they will continue to happen to you.
